Muay Thai Training in Kansas

Muay Thai is a combat sport from Thailand. It is commonly referred to as "The Art of Eight Limbs" because of the eight different parts of the body used to strike- both fists, both elbows, both knees and both legs. Hand strikes include straight punches, hooks, uppercuts and even spinning backfists. There are also a variety of kicking techniques.

The round kicks in Muay Thai are known for their power, because the kicks are done by turning over the hips. Training isn't as structured as other traditional forms of martial arts; there are no uniforms and usually no ranking system. Pad work, drills and sparring are all important parts of training.
