Tang soo do Schools in Oregon

Tang Soo Do combines the techniques of Shotokan Karate, Subak, Korean hand-to-hand combat, and Kung Fu. There is a great deal of variation among Tang Soo Do schools, so training and techniques vary greatly depending on the school. Hand strikes include open-handed techniques, blocks and punches.

Similar to Muay Thai, knee and elbow strikes are also practiced. Kicking techniques include front kicks, hook kicks, round-house kicks and more. Forms, one-step sparring and sparring are all common methods of training. One of the goals of training is to develop mentally and to use all human senses; mental awareness is taught to all students.
